Thewhole bundle of customer- related information thus captured is available in the CIFmodule of the CRM.The customers, based on whether they are individuals or business are referred to aseither Retail or Corporates.CUSTOMERS are two types – 1. The CIF system helps thebank to know the details of the individuals with whom they maintain certain relationship.CIF creation is about capturing the details of the individual / corporates, doing therequired validations and storing it in the Bank‟s database for future reference. On creation of the CIF ID,the customers can perform banking transactions such as depositing money, availingloan, credit or debit card or any other product of the bank. This CIF ID is subsequently used by the Bank toprovide all types of products and services to the customer. This ID is created for thecustomer in the bank's database. This gives a global flavour to conduct business transactions acrossgeographies, systems, channels, products, at all times. So, instead of capturingthe information in multiple back end systems, it is maintained at a common CIFdatabase in Customer Relationship Management module and linkage is provided to allthe required back end systems.Every individual (retail) and business (corporate) customer bears a unique identitysignified as CIF ID.
